Tulips produce millions of pollen grains. With their large, colorful blossoms, they attract insects that help with pollination and the distribution of the pollen as they gather nectar. The pollen grain in the color photograph measures about 25 micrometers and is therefore among the small to medium-sized representatives in the pollen universe.
