In the early days, electronic components were soldered together and computers were as large as garages. Today, it is possible to apply increasingly small components to a carrier through light exposure, just like photographs. The image shows a researcher wearing a mask exposing a nanoelectronic component at the technology hall of the Fraunhofer Institute of Integrated Systems and Device Technology (IISB).
