At the ESTEC Planet Laboratory in Noordwijk, research robots are developed for unmanned space expeditions. For this purpose, the surface of Mars and the Moon were reconstructed in a realistic landscape simulation. Even the lighting conditions on these celestial objects was imitated to test the robots for their mission. This vehicle plays a key role in the ExoMars Mission, which is supposed to head toward our neighboring planet in 2011.
