The head of the common housefly is two millimeters in size. Based on cutting-edge laser technology, specialists have provided the fly with designer glasses. The precision work was made possible by an ultrashort-pulse laser that allows the processing of materials without damage. The procedure offers enormous potential for the manufacture of high-tech products in all areas, from medicine to archeology.
