In pharmaceutics and medicine, the smallest particles are used as carriers for active ingredients and diagnostic substances. With the help of special procedures, tiny spheres of the common plastic polystyrene can be produced. By treating the surface with the active ingredient carrier polyethylene glycol, the little spheres become an ideal carrier material.
